A quick stop for gas and a run through the corn in grandpa Kelly's birthplace before the last stretch to our destination. We had a great swim and then the kids patiently wait for pizza in the hotel room.
I'm glad that you went through Earlham. One of my fondest childhood memories were when we spent some summer days on Grandpa Kelly's uncle's farm in Earlham with pigs, chickens, cows and this one huge boar he kept in a cage as not to run amuck among the lady pigs. And one year when we were there, he had a mess of piglets. Brooks had a bb-gun and shot a ton of birds and after each kill, he would scratch a hatch mark on the barrel of the gun keeping score of all his kills. At night we would chase and catch fire-flies and I stepped on a bee, got stung and cried like a baby for hours. Having never really been anywhere but 450 S. Nelson and Canon City....Earlham was a major adventure. Love it.
Good luck! I hope you have a lot of fun and make some great memories!
